ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan and Financial Action Task Force (FATF) will begin their final session today in Islamabad.
According to the details, the FATF Asia-Pacific team has arrived on a 12 day visit to Pakistan on October 7.
The delegation will have meetings with the ministries of finance and interior officials, the financial monitoring unit and the state bank during its visit.
It will also review the administrative and legal measures taken by Pakistan in order to stop the monetary assistance of terrorists.
The government has approved amendments which were proposed by FATF in the Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Countering Financing of Terrorism (CFT) Regulations 2018.
Moreover, the task force will meet with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and law enforcement agencies officials.
A report will also be presented in a meeting of the FATF about the measures taken by the government in order to control the terrorist financing which will be held later in 2018.
In June, a meeting of FATF in Paris added Pakistan to the grey list of countries involved in providing monetary assistance to terrorism and related causes.
