KARACHI: A police team investigating Naqeebullah Mehsud’s alleged encounter is expected to leave for Islamabad on Wednesday to locate and arrest former Senior Superintendent Police (SSP).
On Tuesday, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) foiled the former SSP’s attempt to leave the country from Benazir International Airport in the nation’s capital, while the officials say that the suspended SSP has not returned to Karachi yet.
Sindh Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sultan Khawaja ensured that all necessary measures are being taken to arrest Rao Anwar after a First Information Report (FIR) was lodged against him.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also said that slain Naqeebullah Mehsud would be served justice soon and that extrajudicial killings would not be tolerated in the province.
The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan has ordered hearing of Naqeebullah case on January 27.
Naqeebullah Mehsud, a 27-year-old South Waziristan native, was gunned down in an alleged encounter on January 13 in Shah Latif town.
